What is a Fic/ Art Exchange?

This is a fanfic/art exchange. You create scarabedo artwork or fanfic and you receive a gifted art or fanfic in exchange that’s scarabedo themed.
Since the rarepair is small we will have artists and writers in the same group. You might get art or fanfic back as a gift.

What is Allowed?

All types of work are allowed. SFW and NSFW. The form will ask specfics and what you prefer. Please, Please, Please be detailed in preferences! This is your gift and we want everyone happy in the scarabedo exchange! (Please write in the appropriate boxes what you like and dislike so you are matched appropriately. If you do not list a tag or genre you dislike your gifter won’t know what you are uncomfortable with.)

What are the Specifications and Rules? (Faq’s)

  • Follow what directions are given once you receive your match. (If there is a work asking for certain tags or excluding them, please listen to the guidelines. If you have any questions ask mods to clarify what tags/themes you were given.)

  • It’s not guaranteed that you’ll exclusively receive art or fic. It will be one or the other. The shipping is a rare pair and we will try our best to give you the best gift possible.

  • Make sure to have your work done on time. If you miss the 2nd deadline or can’t finish on time, please let the mods know as soon as possible. Don’t ghost us. Life happens, we understand!

  • If you click to be a pitch hitter on the form don’t be surprised to be contacted about it. (A pitch hitter is someone who is willing to write/draw an extra work because someone dropped out or ghosted the mods on the last check-in. We want to make sure everyone gets a gift and pitch hitters help with that!)

  • For Writers: the minimum word count is 1,000 words. If you go over that word count awesome!

  • If you need help with starting your work, such as a prompt, you can message a mod for help and they can give you a few ideas with the genres/themes/tags you were given.

  • You only have to write/draw one work (unless you ask to be a pitch hitter. Then you could be writing/drawing two pieces if asked to)

  • Communication (check-ins) during the exchange will be through e-mail since Twitter and social media can be flakey. A form will be sent in the e-mail for you to fill out on check-in dates. Make sure to fill them out asap when prompted to. So mods are aware of how far you’ve progressed in your work. (If you have questions and prefer not to e-mail them, Twitter and Tumblr will take your questions.)

  • Anyone is allowed to participate at any level of experience. If you're a newbie or a pro at writing/art. This is for fun!

Where do we post?

Fan Fics will be posted on Ao3 in a collection that will be hidden until reveal day.
Fan Art will be revealed on Twitter or gifted in the preferred method.
(Artists/Authors are allowed to post their works after reveal day)The collection is called Scarabedo Gift Exchange and you are allowed to submit your gifted fic from Feb 19th - Feb 26th. (It shouldn't show up in the collection and be anonymous there until I reveal it.
